Hello!
I have been a member of Kinetic Recruiting since 2021. I have run an English school for decades, and through that experience I have built a strong understanding of what qualifications make someone a good director and a good teacher. I mainly take care of the domestic side, matching teachers and guiding the baseline of what both of our customers need, directors and teachers alike.
Thankfully, there has been a lot of interest from teachers who want to come to Korea to teach English and experience Korean culture, especially with the rise of the Han Wave such as K pop, K drama, K food and more. However, in the education field there can still be challenges in narrowing the cultural gap when foreign teachers approach Korean students. In important moments, I try to make things smooth by coordinating between both sides, foreign teachers and Korean directors and students, helping them connect and understand each other. Kinetic Recruiting is built on open mindedness and trust. We work hard to help expand your experience as teachers and explorers of the planet.
I have worked with Tony Riordan as a business partner since we launched Kinetic Recruiting in 2021, and recently we welcomed a new recruiter, Daniel Svoboda, so we can meet your needs more swiftly and more fully. Please feel free to get in touch with any of us for information or ideas about your career here in Korea.
We truly hope we can invite you to Korea, to teach, to learn a new culture, and to love your life even more.
Thank you for visiting our website.
Tony Riordan was born in Vancouver, Canada but spent his childhood and school years in England, living mostly around the Hertfordshire and Essex borders, just outside the North East of London.
After leaving school Tony spent a couple of years working as a sales assistant in a busy high street electrical store, but he decided he really wanted to move back to Canada, a brave move given that he was not yet 20 at the time!
Back in Canada, he continued to work in electronics and customer care while studying for his degree in Cognitive Science from Simon Fraser University.
In 2018 he decided that it was time for a new adventure and gained his qualifications as a Teacher of English Language. He then took himself off, again alone, all the way to to South Korea!
Tony started his teaching career in a small academy in the heart of Chungcheongbuk-do, a beautiful place surrounded my mountains and city life, where he met and married Juliet.
Daniel Svoboda is a teacher-recruiter based in Seoul, Korea, with almost two decades of experience in education.
Throughout his career, he has taught learners ranging from kindergarten students to corporate executives across private academies, elementary and high schools, universities, and in-house corporate training programs.
This broad experience gives Daniel a firsthand understanding of Korea’s English education landscape and the needs of both teachers and educational institutions.
As fluent Korean speaker, Daniel is well positioned to guide international teachers about the cultural and communication gap in South Korea.
His professional background also includes university teaching, translation, and academic research, and he has presented at more than thirty international conferences in Korea and abroad. Drawing on his extensive experience in Korean education, Daniel now focuses on connecting qualified teachers with schools and positions where they can thrive.
After working at several different teaching academies, Tony and Juliet decided to launch Kinetic Recruiting. in order to match teachers to the academies they would love to work at.
Recently we have welcomed Dan to our team to provide more opportunities to qualified teachers.
Kinetic Recruiting is all about matching teachers to the schools and academies, and received certification and a business licence in June of 2021. Despite the difficulties brought on with the global pandemic we are very proud to have an ever growing list of successful teacher placements.
We are now in the process of forming partnerships with some of the larger TEFL academies from North America, and we are creating relationships with ESL academies throughout South Korea every day.
We always seek to live up to our business motto: Moving the Kinetic way means you will move healthily and safely.
